Barnes & Noble Social Response

Social Media Post

In this project, I created how I thought that Barnes & Noble would respond to Baned Books Week and the Virginia Book Lawsuit. For this response, I felt that they would make an Instagram post about Banned Books Week and the lawsuit, while also highlighting books that have been banned or challenged before. This post would also help draw attention to the section on their website that is dedicated to banned books. For this response they would post a carousel that would feature the main bookshelf photo and then two honorable mentions, that are the two books that sparked the Virginia Book Lawsuit.

During this Banned Books Week we want to celebrate and highlight both of the two books threatened by Virginia Republicans and books that have been previously challenged both new and old.

Books have always been something that has been attacked and challenged throughout history. Whether it was because of the people reading them or the content in them people have been afraid of books. This year two books, "Gender Queer" and "A Court of Mist and Fury", were named in a Virginia lawsuit that wanted to restrict access to books in public schools and private booksellers.

Books are an important part of cultures, personal identity, and more. They are a way to entertain, share stories, history, knowledge, and more. Books should be able to be enjoyed unrestricted and openly.
